Our team turned out in full force for VOREA's annual holiday party! It was a special time to have our growing family all in one place to enjoy an evening of food and fun as we look forward to 2020. A special thank you to all who ventured out on a rainy Friday night to celebrate the launch of the 12th Street outdoor pedestrian plaza space. Over the course of 3 hours, we had nearly 500 LIC community members enjoy cookies from Cookie Crumz and ice cream from Van Leeuwen. Our friends at ICONYC Brewing kept us well hydrated and fed with a pizza pop-up by Tufino Pizzaria.
We are especially honored to have worked alongside the DOT and CB2 to help make this dream for 12th Street a reality, and we look forward to many great community events to come.

This April, VOREA, in partnership with the Department of Transportation, had the privilege of presenting proposed street improvements to 12th Street in LIC. VOREA held a community forum at The Local NYC to unveil the plan, and the neighborhood responded with widespread support. Community Board 2 later voted and approved the project. We are excited to sponsor this improvement effort as we continue to make investments in a neighborhood we love. Stay tuned for progress in the upcoming months!

This month our company took a team-building trip to Gowanus, Brooklyn and ended the evening at The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club. Congratulations to our tournament winners, Sebastiaan Parys and Eric Jansen, who proved to be shuffleboard kings!

Last week, The VOREA Group along with Lee and Associates hosted more than 100 local Real Estate Brokers for the unveiling of our project Jackson Square (www.jacksonsquare.nyc). We are so excited for the contribution the Office and Retail at Jackson Square will have for our neighborhood in LIC. A special thanks to the Long Island City Partnership for their continued support, Cloud Catering for their excellence in service, and our friends at Casa Enrique, M. Wells Steakhouse, and Jora Restaurant.

Thank you to all of our friends and Long Island City neighbors who were able to attend Transmogrification. We had an incredible opening night, followed by a two-week viewing of over 40 pieces from 26 artists celebrating the theme of change in LIC. A special thanks to artists Tun Myaing and Panos Papamichael for all their hard work curating such a wonderful event.

We are excited to announce the upcoming art show: Transmogrification - which we are hosting at Jackson Square. We would like to invite you to attend the opening on Wednesday, June 21st, from 6:30 to 9:30pm. If you can’t make it, the show is open during select times for viewing until Saturday, July 8th. We would love to see you on opening night. Here is a brief description of the event:
L.I.C. has gone from a forgotten industrial neighborhood to what now feels like an extension of Manhattan across the water. The metamorphosis that Long Island City has undergone, whether you believe it is for the better or worse, is nothing short of astounding. Our show celebrates the theme of change and we have given it the name of: "Transmogrification". With 40+ works from 26 artists of incredible talent, we believe we have lived up to the big name.

VOREA has acquired an existing two story industrial warehouse at 1201 44th Ave in LIC! LIC’s rapid residential growth, has clearly created a demand for more office, retail, community facility and industrial users. The building has great bones, exceptional light and air, and is very accessible both to major thoroughfares and also to LIC’s multiple subway lines. The planned renovation is going to fit into not only the fabric of LIC’s IBZ, but also LIC’s Court Square and Queens Plaza market as a whole.
This property adds to the growing number of VOREA developments in Western Queens.
