Virtual Design Manager
Gary Lam is a problem solver in the building industry and challenges the norm with innovative ideas and processes . His extensive experience varies in the AEC industry as an Energy Auditor and Consultant, HVAC and Plumbing Designer, office wide BIM Implementation Manager, Pre-construction Engineer, Estimator, Business Development Coordinator and Multi-Discipline Coordinator. Gary takes into account the entire life-cycle of projects from concept to facilities management while considering how the natural environment is affected by human integration. He has performed work on high profile, awarding winning projects between the public and private sectors that spans across transportation, aviation, cultural, educational, government, residential, commercial to medical facilities. Gary dedicates himself to engaging new ideas, questioning redundant practices while applying efficient ones to constantly improve our urban landscapes and re-shape the environment in which we live, work and play.
As a native New Yorker with a background in Mechanical Engineering from NYU Poly, Gary spent 16 years in the Design Consulting industry before transitioning to Construction Management in 2016. His most notable past projects include prototyping B2 Modular at Atlantic Yards to design, the New U.S. Embassy in London, King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Delta Terminal 4 at JFK Airport, Princeton University – Lewis Center of Arts, Cornell University – NYC Tech One, The Highline Park, The Vessel at Hudson Yards, New York Presbyterian Hospital – DHK, NY Aquarium Restoration and The Spiral at Hudson Yards.
In his spare time Gary is a Community Affairs Engagement Leader, a STEM supporter, an advocate for social change and enjoys volunteering with local non-profit organizations.
