JOB DESCRIPTION: CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

New York based developer and construction manager seeks experienced and organized Construction Project Manager.  The position reports to the Director of Business Operations and is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:  Managing Jr Project Management Staff, Project Schedule, Field and Office Coordination, Daily / Weekly Project Data Entry, Monthly reporting, In depth understanding and review of the Contract Documents and Contractor Scopes of Work, Control of all financial aspects of the job inclusive of: Budget, Contracts, Monthly Billing, Change orders, and Anticipated Cost Reports.

 

PROJECT MANAGER JOB DUTIES / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provides leadership to the Project team through planning, problem solving, communication and diligent follow-up.

  • Proficiency with Construction Management software (Procore, Microsoft project, etc…)

  • Prepare scopes of work and bid packages in support of estimating and project procurement.

  • Lead project meetings with Co-workers, Clients, Owners, and Design Teams.

  • Prepare project logistic plans and project schedules.

  • Manage execution of the work and monitor site safety program to meet schedule commitments.

  • Maintain and review project financials with the Project Team.

  • Submit RFI’s and administrate the resolution of open issues.

  • Prepare and administrate change orders and maintain Anticipated Cost Reports

  • Manage the submittal review process as required to ensure material availability to meet schedule requirements. Compile and maintain Material / Submittal logs.

  • Organize / maintain permit logs and track inspections to ensure proper close out.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Creative and a critical-thinking problem solver.

 

PROJECT MANAGER EXPERIENCE:  

  • 5 + years in New York City construction project management experience.

 

PROJECT MANAGER EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • A degree in an Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management is a plus. A degree is not mandatory. Experience is strongly considered.

  • Broad experience based technical knowledge of construction means and methods.

  • Requisite working knowledge of Statutes and Codes
